This building was built for the Universal Exhibition of 1900, dedicated to the celebration of art, and was originally intended to house the salons. Neo-Louis style 14 with some references to 18th century art. Influence of art nouveau. Facade siding made of stone; metal and glass nave frame; reinforced concrete. The building served as a military hospital during the first World War. Decommissioned during the period 1950-1960\. From 1965, development of the National Galleries.
