À propos du lieu

Lunette 10

rue du 3e corps US 52200 Langres

Haute-Marne

Grand Est

In 1847 and 1848, Lunette 10 was built about 200 meters southeast of the citadel. This name comes from the numbering by the military engineer of the defense bodies of the citadel. This one has eight bastions (numbered 1 to 8 from the bastion is counterclockwise) and two glasses (numbered 9 and 10). In addition to the Lunette 9 (former weather station, current residence of the goalkeeper of the sports complex Grand sud), it contributes to deep staggering the defensive line of the citadel. It is a kind of "detached bastion" of the citadel, totally autonomous: an artillery concentration point intended to constitute an organ of resistance, hindering and slowing down the progression of an enemy in the direction of the citadel.
