In this 41st edition of the European Heritage Days, the prefecture, which houses two centuries of representation of the State in Haute-Garonne and Occitania, and formerly housed the General Council, exceptionally opens its doors.
This year’s program:

  • free or guided tour: walk in the footsteps of the prefect and discover the secrets of the architecture and history of the prefecture
  • meetings with public service actors: dialogue with them and discover the essential missions they carry out on a daily basis for the service of the State
  • workshops and animations for young and old: participate in fun and educational workshops to discover the heritage in an interactive and friendly way
  • thematic exhibitions: sail the sandstone of our exhibitions to discover the Occitanie region.
  • Free visits and entertainment, entrance place Saint-Étienne: discover the office of the prefect, the official reception rooms, the garden of the prefecture. So the history of the building and the missions of the prefect will have no more secrets for you!

Former archdiocese of the eighteenth century, became prefecture on July 27, 1808\. Since 1999, the prefecture has opened its doors on the occasion of Heritage Days.
