Madness Marco, big(great) lives(remains) at the middle - manorial middle-middle-class person became, thanks to a legacy made in 1960 in the City of Barr, a museum. Buildings(Ships) and collections which are gathered(combined) establish(constitute) for the amateur as for the tourist a complement essential to the knowledge of Alsatian life there.
When, from 1760 till 1763, Louis Félix Marco, lawyer(avocado) to the sovereign Council(Advise) of Alsace and bailiff of the Seigniory of Barr, made build this beautiful house on a ground near the City, its fellow citizens and citizens handled it with "madness". Emptied of its contents, but keeping(preserving) some essential elements of its internal decoration(set), the house passed by diverse hands and it is the last owners, the brothers Henries and Gustave Schwartz, that left it, re-furnished(re-filled) with love, in their home town.
This is the way(That's how) «Madness Marco» is a museum of the Alsatian bourgeois furniture today. Ground floor(floors): dining room with wooded decorations(sets), furnished(filled) Empire and the Restoration. 1st floor: oval lounge(show) with decorations(sets) stuccoed by time(period), furnished(filled) with style Regency and Louis XV. 2nd graduates: big(great) lounge(show), Rhenish Renaissance, Alsatian cupboards of the 17th s. To see: important china and earthenware collections (Strasbourg, Niderviller, Sèvres, Lunéville, is from France and Germany), and local tin, tapestries of Aubusson, Alsatian stoves of 18th and 19th s.
