Le GRIFFON... Funny name for a theatre! When, for the opening of this new place of cultural diffusion in January 2007, it was necessary to find a name, the choice was imposed naturally. And instead of naming it after an illustrious stranger, we tapped into what we had at our fingertips— On the coat of arms of Vaugneray are 2 legendary animals including a griffin. So we adopted this new animal by relooking it a little and now it has become a nice pet. Especially when the theatre opens its doors to welcome spectators, actors and technicians. And when you walk through that door… We enter a somewhat magical place. Every theatre in the world has a magical side.
