Rally "The little explorers of Fréjus"
As part of the European Heritage Days, the Archaeology and Heritage Department offers a Heritage Rally in the historic center of Fréjus. Students will discover their cultural heritage through a rally in the historic center, while awakening to the importance of its «sustainable» protection and its valorization. This Rally is for the 5th grade classes of the Fréjus schools. The organization is as follows: - departures in the morning and afternoon Place Clemenceau - a duration of 2 hours (to be specified, in compliance with school schedules) - the class will be divided into 3 groups of children with accompanying persons (teachers and parents will have a group at their expense) - the entire course takes place in the historic center: stopover points at museums, Porte des Gaules, ramparts... - equipment provided: a logbook and an orientation card per student - Equipment: pencil/pen, cap, water bottle
As for the pedagogical contributions, they are as follows: BEFORE: upstream, the orientation map will be sent to the classes-participants to read a plan, orient themselves in the space, identify significant monuments. We also advise you to review the timeline and the vocabulary related to heritage and archaeology. DURING: During the rally, students become true explorers of modern times. APRES: Thanks to the logbook, the teacher will be able to reinvest the content in class and carry out an activity around "Fréjus and the time machine" (available on the last page of the notebook).
