Naples for passion. Masterpieces from the De Vito collection
Until October 29, 2023, the Granet Museum presents the exhibition Naples for passion, masterpieces of the De Vito collection.
It is a prestigious collection of Neapolitan paintings of the seventeenth century that the Granet Museum invites you to discover this summer. Giuseppe De Vito (1924 – 2015) passionately collected the most beautiful works of the great artists of the Neapolitan Seicento. This collection, presented for the first time in its entirety, offers an unparalleled immersion in Naples from the seventeenth century to the death of Caravaggio. The Master of the Announcement to the shepherds, Caracciolo, Finoglio, Stanzione, Cavallino or Preti or Giordano... so many artists, so many styles, which offer us an exceptional panorama of painting in Naples and its tumultuous history...
Following the exhibition, the museum presents in an original way the seventeenth-century Neapolitan paintings from its collection, partly restored for the occasion.
