Moulin de Thévalles
Route de Saulges, 53340 Chémeré-le-Roi
The first mention of a mill on the Erve depending on the castle of Thévalles is 1260\. A second mill will be built, with a house for the miller in the 16th century. The Marquis de la ROCHELAMBERT, pioneer of the Mayenne industry and owner of Thévalles had a large mill rebuilt on 4 levels and the miller’s house in 1849-1850, on the model of what was then done in England. All the archives (agreement with the supplier of the mechanism, plans, correspondence allowing the follow-up of the works, etc.) are kept. The entire mechanism and milling utensils are in place and working.
