Built by the Provost Marshal of Anjou R. Le Pelletier in around 1630, the original castle was gradually entrenched during the 18th century by the addition of side wings and pavilions on garden, including a sumptuous «marble salon» created in 1780\. Degraded by the occupation of the republican armies between 1790 and 1797, the castle saw again its very modified layout at the beginning of the XXth, mainly on the garden side. Two elements should be emphasized: in the centre of the building, the facade of the first castle, with its discreet but very orderly structure and the «marble salon» whose Italian decoration with panels and pilasters with Ionic capitals has not moved since 1780.
