Free route to discover the church Saint-Médard dating from the late nineteenth century. Built according to the plans of the diocesan architect of Angers, Ernest Dainville, the building mixes architectural styles of Romanesque and Gothic inspiration. Mosaic made in 2015 on the tympanum of the main entrance. Exhibition of parish registers. Built in tuffeau stone, in a neo-Romanesque style, the church of Saint-Médard de Neuillé was erected in 1880 according to the plans of Ernest Dainville, diocesan architect of Angers. It is located on the site of the old Romanesque church of the village. On the facade, a turret of tuffeau stone staircase shell cover leads to the attic.
The facade is pierced by a large door with circular arches, surmounted by a gallery floor with arcades. The tympanum above the main door is composed of a mosaic of natural stones made by Sister Samuelle of the monastic fraternity of Jerusalem. The interior is composed of a nave with 3 bays on crusades of Gothic Angevin style and an apse in Romanesque style. The decoration consists of capitals with vegetal decoration and armored vaults. The stained glass windows of the narthex (above the entrance door) represent the portraits of Madame Lehou, benefactor of the church and Doctor Daudet, benefactor of the commune.
