On the occasion of the European Heritage Days, the Masonic Temple of Saint-Nazaire exceptionally opens its doors for a visit and a moment of exchange with the members of the lodge.
The Freemasonry in Saint-Nazaire
Freemasonry has been present in the Nazaire region since 1774. The original temple was destroyed during the bombing of the city on 23 February 1943. A new temple, rebuilt after the war, was inaugurated on February 18, 1954. This temple welcomes you exceptionally for a guided tour during the European Heritage Days. The opportunity to discover this original building, its architecture, some of its symbolic objects and decorations made by the Breton painter Émile Guillaume. This visit is also a moment of exchange with members of the lodge, of different obediences, on the reality of Freemasonry beyond preconceived ideas. By the referents of the Grand Orient of France and the collective of Obediences that occupies the Temple.
