JEP 2023
History: In the 18th, the fief of Guinefolle belonged to the abbey of Savigny (50). The cadastre of 1812 already lists this park, which became Roulois and Le Bail property at the beginning of the 19th century, hence the name of the Roulois suburb at the entrance to the park. This tree set was particularly well managed by Yvonne Le Bail. His successors in an eco-citizen approach have brought a touch of diversity in reforestation with new species to ensure the future of the site. Since 2005, the park is often open to visitors on request. Due to the remarkable site, a new park was created in 2007 along the Guinefolle road thus doubling the surface of the original park.
Description: This English park of about 5 ha extends along the Ernée, from the bridge of the road of Vitré to the waterfall of the mill of the castle. The 2.5 ha of old park form a set of trees remarkable for the quality and diversity of its species. La Guinefolle has an exceptional character in the middle of a protected landscape heritage area. These very well preserved trees since the beginning of the 19th century have become true «lords of time» particularly a giant sequoia near the wash house and a set of plane trees near the bridge. The recovery of these species is ensured by 2.5 ha of new park that present between the path of Guinefolle and the Ernée new species, a basin of water lilies and a breathtaking view of the presbytery and the surroundings. The washhouse along the river has been preserved. The whole with its trees of more than 30 meters is in perfect harmony with the two neighboring ponds and the remarkable bell tower of the church.
