In 1798, a new theatre was built opposite the famous Maison Carrée in Nîmes. It is ordered to the architects to make a building whose facade, recalling the ancient, would emphasize the grace of the Roman monument.

In 2003, it was a priority to offer spectators and artists comfortable and welcoming spaces. The room has been redesigned, the acoustics and visibility have been improved, the various reception areas have been renovated.
