In the nineteenth century, the city of Sauve is transformed: - The city develops with the cotton industry and the arrival of new populations. The districts of Cazernes and Vabre are urbanized on the outskirts of the old center. The squares are redeveloped and the water from the springs supplies the public fountains. - A new temple, a bell tower for Saint Peter’s Church, a town hall and a public primary school were built. - The habitat is transformed through the contribution of new techniques and materials... and according to the modes of the moment.
