The regional prehistory museum opens its doors on this special day. Come and enjoy the presentation of the exhibition: «Neolithic ArchéoChrono» made available by INRAP. The room of statues-menhirs offers a captivating staging with sound effects and light effects, commented in French and English. The museum is housed in a medieval building whose foundations date back to the construction of the former abbey church in 936, founded by Count Pons-de-toulouse. It is also located near the passage de la Pourtanelle and the Saint-Benoit tower.

The museum offers visitors a journey back in time to better know the life of our ancestors, the Saintponians: their stone architecture (megalithism) and their daily life are told using objects found on archaeological sites (ceramics, flint tools, polished axes, trimmings, etc.). Maps, plans, models and objects discovered by archaeologist Gabriel Rodriguez are presented along a chronological and thematic route.
