Located at the junction between Saint-Bonnet-du-Gard, Sernhac and Remoulins, the Marduel archaeological site, dating from the Iron Age, has more than 3000 years of history to tell you.
Dominating the passage of the Gardon because of its location, this site holds remains of dwellings, ramparts, quarries but also delivered a series of steles and pillars, ceramics, several Gaulish inscriptions in Greek letters and many other discoveries.
The visit of the site will be through a commented hike that will start at 9 am from the parking lot of the green way.

The Marduel archaeological site in Saint-Bonnet-du-Gard dominates the Gardon valley halfway between Nîmes and Avignon. It represents a site of prime importance for the understanding of the Iron Age and Mediterranean Celtic in the region. occupied continuously from the eleventh century BC until Roman times.
Located at the junction between Saint-Bonnet-du-Gard, Sernhac and Remoulins, the archaeological site of the Marduel , dating from the Iron Age, and which has more than 1500 years of history to tell you, like the phoenix, will rise from its ashes on the occasion of the European Heritage Days.
