Bordeaux Métropole Valorisation is the operator of a totally integrated sector of the 3 recovery and recycling units (a sorting centre and an energy recovery unit in Bègles, an energy recovery unit in Cenon) to meet the major challenges of Bordeaux Métropole:
* An innovative new sorting centre for recyclable packaging, among the most modern, combining automation and digital services for operators, which has enabled all packaging to be sorted since 1 January 2023 in accordance with the extension of sorting instructions for plastics.
* The energy recovery of the Metropolis' non-recyclable waste, with 770,000 inhabitants covering the energy needs of the equivalent of 34,000 inhabitants in heating and 100,000 inhabitants in electricity, thus meeting the objectives of BM 2050, positive energy territory.
* Environmental performance up to the best available techniques with a major modernization of the smoke treatment systems
