Evoking prehistory for the general public, it is the landscapes of Dordogne that emerge, not those of the Gironde. And yet… The town of Prignac-et-Marcamps is the only decorated cave in the department! The engravings in it are almost 32,000 years old, dating back to the Aurignacian era.

Pair-non-Pair is one of the most remarkable decorated caves belonging to the beginning of the Upper Palaeolithic (from 33000 to 26000 BC). His engraved bestiary (horses, ibex, deer, mammoths, cattle) is enriched with an exceptional representation of megaceramics.
