XIIE-XIIIE-XVIE. The part(party) the most old(former), the castle - forts, was built for defence. The current castle, of Renaissance style, was preceded of several others. In the year ten hundred, the building served as villa to the bishops of Périgueux. In 1345, besieged, it is taken by the English people and nothing seems to have remained(subsisted) of these times(periods). In the XVth century, the current castle was built and in the middle of the XVIth century, the king Henry II made transform the house for Mrs de Limeuil. The company was not led to its term. Only half of the castle was realised.
