The Cathedral Square is the main square of the city of Bazas. The city center is classified as a protected area thus strengthening the protection of the surroundings.
Several important monuments overlook the square: the City Hall, inscribed under the title of Historical Monuments in 1965, the Cathedral of Saint-Jean-Baptist classified as a Historical Monument in 1840 and a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1998 under the Ways of Santiago de Compostela in France.
