Discovered by Jean Maury on April 29th, 1924, the cave of the Big(Great) Rock was done up and opened to visit in 1927\. It opens to middle-height of a cliff which overhangs the valley of Vézère and the real mineral forest compound(made up) of a big(great) variety and density of crystallisations with castings of calcite. Stalactites and stalagmites sometimes join to create columns.
