Walk through the rooms: “Heritage + Matrimony = our cultural heritage”
Heritage + Matrimony = Our cultural heritage MATRIMONY is a word that was once used to designate the maternal heritage, but which disappeared during the Revolution, absorbed by the word HERITAGE to signify the cultural heritage. To rehabilitate women artists is to give younger generations other models of identification. We highlight a sculpture by Marie Besnière-Henraux (1876-1964), a sculptor born in China and deceased in Périgueux, as well as the career of several women artists in the Fine Arts rooms. Musical interventions and readings will take place in the collections to evoke musicians, authors and artists.
