Guided tours and animations around a 16th century mill
Take a guided tour of the Moulin Neuf, provided by the members of the association Moulin Neuf et Patrimoines.
Located on one of the dead arms of the Ciron, the Moulin Neuf was plunged into oblivion, since its closure, during the decade 1850-1860, following the construction of the railway line Bordeaux-Toulouse-Marseille. It was already in action in 1536!
In 2015, the association was created with a single goal: to ensure the restoration, safeguarding, maintenance and enhancement necessary to ensure the sustainability of the Moulin Neuf.
For eight years, ten people have been on the site once a week to carry out their commitment.
They will explain the chronology of the work carried out during commented visits.
This year, with the arrival of the elements of another mill (millstones, hopper, auger, gears etc), they will explain the last goal of the association: to make the mill a real water mill.
A storyteller and a gypsy jazz group will participate in the animation of these two days where you can taste Sauternes, in a bucolic setting.
