1820 begann Xavier Navarrot seine Kritik am monarchischen System, indem er ein Lied über eine Melodie von Cyprien Despourrins veröffentlichte. Er wird weiterhin seine republikanischen Überzeugungen durch viele andere Lieder wie seinen Mentor Béranger (1780-1857) zeigen. Allegorisch, scharf, ohne Umwege, geschrieben in Béarnais oder Französisch, werden sie Mitte des 19. Jahrhunderts im Ariel veröffentlicht, der Zeitung Bayonne, deren Chefredakteur Agustin Chaho war. Einige dieser Lieder, die die Despourrins-Melodie oder populäre Melodien der Zeit verwenden, werden kommentiert und gesungen.

In 1820, Xavier Navarrot began his criticism of the monarchical system by publishing a song written to a melody by Cyprien Despourrins. He will continue to display his Republican convictions, through many other songs, like his mentor, Béranger (1780-1857). Allegorical, acerbic, without detours, written in Béarnais or in French, they will be published in the middle of the nineteenth century, in Ariel, the newspaper of Bayonne whose editor-in-chief was Agustin Chaho. Some of these songs, using the melody of Despourrins or popular tunes of the time, will be commented and sung.

Nel 1820, Xavier Navarrot inizia la sua critica del sistema monarchico pubblicando una canzone scritta su una melodia di Cyprien Despourrins. Continuerà a mostrare le sue convinzioni repubblicane, attraverso molte altre canzoni, come il suo mentore, Béranger (1780-1857). Allegoriche, aspre, senza mezzi termini, scritte in béarnais o in francese, saranno pubblicate a metà del XIX secolo, nell'Ariel, il giornale Bayonnais il cui redattore capo era Agustin Chaho. Alcune di queste canzoni, usando la melodia di Despourrins o brani popolari dell'epoca, saranno commentate e cantate.

En 1820, Xavier Navarrot débute sa critique du système monarchique en publiant une chanson écrite sur une mélodie de Cyprien Despourrins. Il continuera à afficher ses convictions républicaines, par le biais de nombreuses autres chansons, à l’instar de son mentor, Béranger (1780-1857). Allégoriques, acerbes, sans détours, écrites en béarnais ou en français, elles seront publiées au milieu du XIXe siècle, dans l’Ariel, le journal bayonnais dont le rédacteur-en-chef était Agustin Chaho. Quelques-unes de ces chansons, utilisant la mélodie de Despourrins ou des airs populaires de l’époque, seront commentées et chantées.

En 1820, Xavier Navarrot comienza su crítica del sistema monárquico publicando una canción escrita sobre una melodía de Cyprien Despourrins. Seguirá mostrando sus convicciones republicanas, a través de muchas otras canciones, como su mentor, Béranger (1780-1857). Alegóricas, acerbas, sin rodeos, escritas en bearnés o en francés, se publicarán a mediados del siglo XIX, en el Ariel, el periódico de Baviera cuyo redactor en jefe era Agustín Chaho. Algunas de estas canciones, utilizando la melodía de Despourrins o melodías populares de la época, serán comentadas y cantadas.
