Built at the end of the Second Empire by Jean-Baptiste Mignon, engineer and famous depository of a hundred patents of invention, collaborator of Eiffel, the castle of Walmath hides in a magnificent park with the English. The latter has original architectural pieces, including an impressive copy of the staircase of the Legion of Honor of Paris. Visitors can also admire beautiful greenhouses, an orange grove and a pond with rock bridges where rhododendrons bloom. This English-style park, created in collaboration with landscape architect André Laurent, has preserved original trees. Other species were imported from America, as was frequently done at the end of the 19th century.
