Founded in the middle of the 11th century, Bricquebec Castle was one of the most powerful strongholds of the medieval Cotentin. It has retained its high polygonal keep and houses an impressive Romanesque stately room. The whole is included in a vast enclosure flanked by towers and protected by two fortified doors. It was in this exceptionally preserved setting that the fate of the great families who owned the seigneury was written for several centuries.
