European Heritage Days are always an opportunity to discover places that are not usually open to the general public. This 2023 edition is no exception to the rule and, among others, the Bibliothèque Historique de la Ville de Paris welcomes you behind hidden doors on Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 September 2023.
From 10am to 6pm, marvel at the 16th century reading room, with its painted beams, and its impressive collection of ancient books (more than a thousand!)... and discover the extension inaugurated in 1969 when the library was installed in this place.
During these Heritage Days, you can also attend presentations of the history of the building and its successive owners, but also visit remarkable pieces of the library.
Please note that the entrance will be free on 16 and 17 September, but will be within the limits of available places. So a tip, do not arrive late.
