Historic Bicêtre Hospital Tours - PA-HP

Discover the Bicêtre Hospital (AP-HP) following a path in the courtyard of massacres, the Great Reservoir and the well of the eighteenth century, which retraces its history in turn as a place of assistance, state prison and asylum. The visit ends at the museum that currently presents the exhibition «La Pharmacie à l'AP-HP d'hier à aujourd'hui». Indeed, the AP-HP Museum unveils its exceptional collections dedicated to hospital pharmacy, tracing its historical, professional and technical history. From the first apothecary founded at the Hôtel-Dieu in 1495 to the AGEPS (Agence générale des équipements et des produits de santé des hôpitaux de Paris), the exhibition presents the manufacturing methods, storage and distribution of medicines in Paris hospitals. It thus shows the transformation of activity as the profession of pharmacist becomes more professional, as technical innovations and as production and distribution are modernised.
