Église Saint-Mathurin
Centre du village 77760 Larchant
- Seine-et-Marne
- Île-de-France
The building was listed as a Historical Monument by Prosper Mérimée in 1846\. The monument, built under the impulse of the Notre-Dame Chapter of Paris, at the same time as the Parisian cathedral, was partially ruined during the wars of religion in the sixteenth century. Nevertheless, the church remains impressive, with a bell tower of 50 meters, a total length of 57 meters and a height under vaults of 18 meters. The interior, widely illuminated by two rows of tall windows, gives an impression of elegance and lightness.
