The saturation of the western cemetery forced the opening of a new cemetery: it was located on Billancourt in 1889\. When it opened at the end of the 19th century, the cemetery was nicknamed by derision «the water cemetery»: the nearby Seine flooded it with each flood. Famous and anonymous tombs make it possible to remember illustrious Boulonnais such as Paul Landowski, sculptor of Christ of Rio, Albert Kahn, the famous banker and philanthropist, Hagop Arakelian, makeup star of the French cinema between the 30s and 60s and many others.
