During the visit, classes are hosted by students from the Ecole du Louvre. Students will discover the past of this important place in the history of the French Revolution. Originally the exercise room of Louis XIV, the Jeu de Paume room became the birthplace of the first Constitution. This room was originally built for entertainment purposes and was intended for the practice of palm playing. It saw the outbreak of the Revolution and the deputies of the third state went there (the room of Menus Plaisirs being prohibited) to take the oath. From the meeting of the three orders (National Constituent Assembly composed of the nobility, the clergy and the third state) will be issued the Declaration of Human and Citizen Rights on August 26, 1789\. The hall was later transformed into a museum of the French Revolution.
