Emile-Justin Menier’s innovative social project, the workers' city was built between 1874 and 1911\. It includes nearly 300 individual dwellings and several public facilities. Its architectural, urban and social modernity has earned it numerous awards at the Universal Exhibitions. Several monuments are registered under the title of Historical Monuments.
