Visit of the ceremonial rooms of the Singer-Polignac Foundation hotel and discover its activities - FULL EVENT
IT IS NO LONGER POSSIBLE TO REGISTER FOR VISITS
For the first time, the Singer-Polignac Foundation will open the doors of its mansion to the public. You can discover its music room and ceremonial lounges on the 1st floor and the former workshop of Winnaretta Singer, Princess of Polignac (1865-1943), formerly known as_Workshop of the street Cortambert_ where she painted and played the organ during the day and organized her musical salons in the evening. Gabriel Fauré, Vincent d'Indy, Nadia Boulanger, Igor Stravinsky, but also Marcel Proust, Jean Cocteau and Colette regularly walked the corridors of this hotel.
The tour will also allow you to discover some rare archives of the princess still preserved.
Today, the foundation’s hotel welcomes artists from the largest conservatories on a daily basis and allows them to rehearse in different rooms arranged accordingly since the creation of the musical residency in 2006. You may come across some of these artists in a corridor.
Most of the ceremonial salons in which you will have the opportunity to stroll during this guided tour are exclusively open when the foundation organizes events. Once a month, she produces concerts reserved for professionals and patrons of the musical world to allow the musicians of her residence to make themselves known. Throughout the year, cultural and scientific days are also organized in collaboration with major universities or research centers. They are all broadcast online and accessible on registration to facilitate access to knowledge.
