At the time of its foundation in 1939, the museum called then «Louis Senlecq museum» is installed(settled) in a part(party) of the «House of Joséphites», built in 1661 by the royal prince Armand de Bourbon Conti (1629-1666), Lord of L'Isle-Adam. In 2006, become too dilapidated, him(it) to close its doors to the public, while redeploying its activities of temporary exhibitions(exposures) in its appendix devoted initially to modern and contemporary art, arts centre Jacques Henry Lartigue, inaugurated in 1998, done up in the old(former) mansion " Bergeret ", origin of which goes back up(raises) in XVIIIÈ century.
