Visit commented by the responsible Valorisation du patrimoine universitaire UPSaclay, of 22 works of modern art of great creators, exhibited in the ISMO laboratory: ( 17 of which lent by the CNAP) The sculpture Gorgone is the work of Vincent Barré, renowned artist, former architect and head of studio at the Beaux-Arts de Paris. Located on the first floor and visible from the large entrance hall, it now greets all ISMO visitors. For the sculptor, present at this inauguration, «this intriguing figure and its 11 kilos of wood are a beautiful counterweight to the modern building with a majestic and sleek appearance». The 16 prints, which can be admired on different floors of the ISMO, are the works of internationally renowned artists: among the most famous, the ironic Ben and his «Liberty or Death» or the German Baselitz, known especially for his overturned figures. A very minimalist etching by Pierrette Bloch, lithographs by Bertrand Vivin, Titus-Carmel, Villeglé, Furudoi, Julien Tiberi, Jean Hucleux, a linocut by Frédérique Lucien, an aquatint by Dominique Labauvie, an engraving on paper by Bernard Moninot, a lenticular print by Dorotte and Pagès, an acrylic painting by Takis, a screen print by Gérald Petit and a digital print by Detanico and Lain, often poetic and mysterious meanings that are invitations to discovery. A number of these works were acquired by the CNAP to celebrate the bicentenary of the Revolution. This deposit completes 5 important works installed for a year within the laboratory. Acquired thanks to Philippe Roncin, researcher at the ISMO, this collection includes paintings of painters celebrated at the end of the 20th century. Among them are Robert Wogensky, Jean Vérame, Jacques Vimard and Yves Lévêque.
