The Cnit First Defence Building - Backstage Tour
Come and discover the backstage and hidden treasures of the Cnit. We invite you to follow us for a historic tour of this emblematic place. Come and discover the different lives of the Cnit (aquaboulevard, TV tray, toboggan run or avalanche accident...), you will have access to areas inaccessible to the public (climb under the vault, admire the structure more closely, understand the construction site of the RER Eole, access the terraces with a breathtaking view of the arch and the towers of the Defense). Inaugurated in 1958 by General de Gaulle, the CNIT (Centre des Nouvelles Industries et Technologies) was designed by architects Robert Camelot, Jean de Mailly and Bernard Zehrfuss. Symbol of La Défense, its construction marked the beginning of construction work on the largest business district in Europe. With the largest self-supporting concrete vault in the world (22,500 m² and 46 m high), the building is a true architectural and technical feat.
