The parish of Saint-Germain takes its name from the small monastery around which a village was built in the eleventh century. The monks of the priory founded in 1028 placed their foundation under the protection of Saint Germain, bishop of Paris. The current church is built on the site of this priory. Louis XV laid the first stone, but it was not completed until 1827.
