In connection with the temporary exhibition "Dourdan and painters, a palette of artists", the company Virges Armes will interpret scenes of living history around the themes of photography, naturalism and landscape painting at the dawn of the 20th century. This animation is inspired by several paintings from the Museum’s collections and works by naturalist painters. Among the re-enactors will be the castle owner and his guests, painters and photographers. On site, photographs on glass and prints on paper will be taken and developed, according to the technical processes in vogue at the end of the century. They will then serve as models for artists who, from then on, will produce their works in oil or watercolour, in the open air and to the general public.
