Mesnil-Saint-Père has a beautiful cultural heritage with its half-timbered houses and its Saint-André church remarkable for its architecture, 14th and 16th century statues, glazed tiles and woodwork.
Formerly, under the presentation of Abbé de Montiéramey, the parish of Mesnil-Saint-Père depended on the grand dean of the diocese of Troyes. Originally, Saint-André chapel of the parish of Montiéramey, it was mentioned in the 12th century (1117) by a bull of Pope Pascal II. The analysis of the archives, both municipal and departmental, provide little information about the history of the church’s construction and this scattered information does not allow to formally date the building.
The present church would have been born in the 12th century, and its current bell tower would be the vestige of the original construction because the building, more complex today, affects more the physiognomy of a 16th century building. Indeed, it was in the 16th century (1554 tumular stone) that a choir was
