Chapel of the castle of the counts of Bar at the beginning of the 11th century, this church was given in 1076 to the Benedictines of Saint-Oyend (Saint-Claude) to whom Henri the Liberal, count of Champagne, replaced canons in 1160\. Too small for the collegial celebration of services, the church was almost completely rebuilt in the last twenty years of the twelfth century. The three-vessel nave and transept date from this work. The central vessel of the choir is closed laterally by blind walls that separate it from the collaterals: it is the primitive chapel; at the end of the thirteenth or early fourteenth century were added an apse on the central vessel and apsidioles on the collaterals. The bell tower is the castle’s old keep, remodeled in the 15th century. The facade, due to Canon Méchin, is inspired by the monumental door of the cloister of Clairvaux (1740).
