The church of Saint-Pierre was the church of the village of Coulmiers. The villages Mutigny and Coulmiers merged in 1798 under the name "La Chaussée", which became "La Chaussée-sur-Marne" in 1904\.
The church of Saint-Pierre dating from the 11th and 12th centuries is, like the other church of La Chaussée-sur-Marne, a Romanesque chalk building, with a polygonal chevet of Rhenish inspiration, classified as a Historic Monument in 1930\. It has several statues protected as Historic Monuments.
