A former bunker dating from the 1930s was discovered by chance in the summer of 2021 by an SNCF employee near the Châlons-en-Champagne station. It is located a few steps from the docks. This concrete building dates from 1937 and includes various rooms. It is a so-called passive defence bunker that was used to pass secret telecommunications and air treatment in case of gas attacks.
