Villa Rabelais, is a mansion built in 1884-1885, by the French architect Stéphen Sauvestre (1847-1919) at the request of Georges Goüin (1850-1925). The building was added to the general inventory of cultural heritage in 1991\. Acquired by the city of Tours in 1949, it successively hosts the School of Law and the School of Fine Arts. It was in 2017 that it took the name of Villa Rabelais, to host the project of Cité de la gastronomie de Tours.
