Dependency of the castle of Boucard, the architectural ensemble of the Gravière is remarkable for its unity. Its construction includes the old techniques used since the 16th century (half-timbering, cob, walls of black stone, flint and limestone, pronounced canopy above barn doors, heavily stained coatings, flat tile, etc.) and its plan is representative (dwelling or operating building) of most of the interior of the Pays-Fort.
Originally the Gravière was a wheat mill. A rod, fed by the Sauldre, allowed to rotate the wheel whose position of the axis is still visible. The building in which this mill was located was converted into a dwelling while the original dwelling, located in the opposite building, was converted into a stable adjoining the barn. The plot (courtyard, garden, oak, pond, meadow, fields) has not been redefined.
