The castle of Yèvre le Châtel was built during the reign of Philippe Auguste. With its ramparts, its four prominent towers, its walkway, its entrance castelet and its poterne, it is the very example of the fortresses of the Middle Ages. From the top of its towers, one embraces a vast panorama of the Beauce, the Gâtinais and the edges of the Orléans forest. A short film presents the history of the village and the botanical squares, created in the upper courtyard of the fortress, allow to discover nearly 150 aromatic and medicinal plants.
At 3pm, on Saturday and Sunday, medieval entertainment and games will be offered to visitors.
