À propos du lieu

Abbaye bénédictine Notre-Dame - Site clunisien
6 rue de l'Abbaye, 36130 Déols

The abbey Notre-Dame of Déols was one of richer in France, today only some vestiges and pieces of wall remain(subsist) but show importance and wealth of the decoration(set) of the abbey. Capitals(Big tops) are kept(preserved) in the pithy museum and offer beautiful stories. A reconstruction 3D of the abbey allows to have an idea of its scale at the time of its peak between the XIIth century and the XVth century. Built on the same model as the abbey of Cluny in Saône-et-Loire, the city of Déols is very naturally a part of the network of the Federation of Sites Clunisien. The bell tower of Romanesque art offers a fantastic view over the city. He(It) appears even what is more in clear weather, it is possible to see the white tower which is in 27 km from there, in Issoudun.
