Exhibition/ Archaeological riches
Exhibition/ Archaeological riches Temporary exhibition of the collections of the Museum of History and Archaeology
The exhibition Archaeological Riches is a new opportunity to discover the importance of the Orleans collections, largely collected by Abbé François Desnoyers (1806-1902). Through a selection of essential archaeological objects of the ancient Mediterranean, the exhibition testifies to the gaze of this collector attached to the local Orleans history but whose gaze could extend to a much wider field, Aware of the importance of certain historical testimonies and the links between cultures. The beginnings of writing, funeral rites, artistic exchanges between the Greek and Etruscan worlds… these objects still reveal the practices of yesterday.
Exhibition until 15 October 2023
