Combining drawing, painting, sculpture, sound and video, this exhibition presents singular artists, freed from all academic requirements or even artistic influences. An original scenography highlights both the works and their context of creation and immerses the visitor in the universe of these artists. Discover creations that, by their unusual character, challenge the visitor as much as they invite him to enter the intimacy of their creators. Here, more than anywhere else, the work presented is inseparable from the artist from whom it emanates. She is a witness to his way of life, his education, the society in which he grew up, and how the latter was able to forge his sensitivity. Often production is frenetic, combining material poverty, creative urgency, instinctive and vital need to express oneself. It is of the order of the enigma, even of the impossible: how could these marginals create so much with so little? In order to find the answer, it is necessary to shed as much light on the works as on their creative context, by means of written, sound or visual documents.
