Free visit of the Livestock and Charolais Museum
On the occasion of the European Heritage Days, visit the Livestock and Charolais Museum. You will discover the life of our grandparents, formerly in the Morvan (weddings, baptisms, harvests, etc.), the Rented (fair at work) where people went in search of a job, the story of the Rouge du Morvan, a rough, courageous little cow, hard at work, but also the history of Charolais, its arrival in the Morvan, its acclimatization, its journey from 1800 to today, the history of the evolution over the years of a landscape, its inhabitants, and its animals. You will also discover the job of cow-calf breeder of Charolaises, with all its constraints and its joys, and the passion of cows, of the land, despite all the difficulties of a job, of a thankless land, of crises and of increasingly complex international stakes, over the years.
