Built in the 17th century and extended until the end of the 18th century, the Hôtel-Dieu de Tournus, with its three sick rooms, is not afraid to compete with that of Beaune. The old rooms have been restored with their original furniture in order to restore the atmosphere of then. The traditional oak beds are still aligned with their central stove, the period utensils. They are a testimony of hospitable life since the 17th century. Domestic pewters are, for example, erected on a sumptuous dresser.
With its 300 Nevers earthenware pots preserved in the magnificent woodwork, the apothecary is undoubtedly one of the oldest in France. Another apothecary, that of the Maison de Charité de Tournus, enriched the collections.
